ROLL TIDE…

Bryden Beare may only be “1”, but I believe he will definitely be an University of Alabama fan as he grows up. I have been told by his aunt that his family is such a big fan of Bama that he was even named after the great “Bear Bryant”, hence his name above. Happy 1st Birthday to Bryden Beare, a little boy I have never even met.

This design was a learning process for me as I had to merge 3 designs by overlapping the stitches. I was very proud of myself using my embroidery software to accomplish it. If I do say myself, it turned out really cute, I think. The “1” is appliquéd with cardinal red thread and a velour material inside, so very soft. The elephant was a design I purchased from Stitch on Time, which has thousands of cute designs. The elephant is appliquéd with a grey striped cotton and his clothing had to be none other than black and white hounds tooth. To finish the design, the name was stitched across the top of the “1” in black thread.

As I conclude this birthday shirt design, my question to you is have you had a new birth experience with Jesus Christ? Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again" (John 3:1-7). Praying that each person that reads this has truly been born again! Jesus stated “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

A LITTLE BIT HERE AND THERE…

I HAVEN’T POSTED A LOT OF PICTURES SINCE CHRISTMAS, HOWEVER I WILL TRY TO DO BETTER.  THESE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT I HAVE WORKED ON.  “I ROCK THE TUTU” HAS EMBROIDERED LETTERING AND AN APPLIQUED GUITAR.  “SAYDEE” IS A STACKED NAME WITH THE INITIAL “S” BEHIND THE NAME IN A DIFFERENT COLOR THREAD.  IT IS PAIRED WITH A MULTI-COLORED TUTU MADE BY MY FRIEND CHEREE OF TOTALLY TULLE.  “JESUS ROCKS” IS MY FAVORITE WITH A ZEBRA PRINT CROSS AND THE WORDING IN LIME GREEN AND HOT PINK WITH DIFFERENT FONTS. “ I LIKE BIG BOWS AND I CANNOT LIE” HAS EMBROIDERED AND APPLIQUED WORDING IN EMERALD GREEN AND HOT PINK THREADING WITH HOT PINK FABRIC FOR THE APPLIQUE. FINALLY, AN EMBROIDERED BUTTERFLY WITH DIFFERENT COLORS OF PINKS AND THE WORDING OF “WE WILL ALL BE CHANGED”.  I LOVE TO SEW!  HOPE YOU ENJOY THE VARIETY!

TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!

PEACE (CAPRI SIGN), LOVE AND ANNA LAURA

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET LITTLE GIRL ANNA LAURA! I LOVE TO MAKE A BIRTHDAY SHIRT FOR MY CHILDREN IN WHATEVER PATTERN THEY DESIRE. THIS YEAR ANNA LAURA PICKED “CAPRI SIGNS”. “CAPRI SIGNS” IS ACTUALLY A PEACE SIGN. HOWEVER, ANNA LAURA HAS CALLED THEM “CAPRI SIGNS” SINCE I CAN REMEMBER! WE WENT SHOPPING FOR FABRIC, AND THIS WAS WHAT SHE CHOOSE. HER CHOICE OF FABRICS DEFINATELY REPRESENT HER OUTGOING PERSONALITY. SHE WANTED A ONE-SHOULDER DRESS AS WELL, WHICH I MADE WITHOUT A PATTERN, AS WE COULD NOT FIND ONE. SHE LOVED IT. I ALSO MADE THIS PANT/SHIRT COMBO OUT OF THE SAME FABRIC. THE PANTS WERE LIME GREEN WITH A ZEBRA/CAPRI SIGN/HEART PATTERN RUFFLE. HER T-SHIRT WAS CUSTOMIZED WITH A COORDINATING RUFFLE AND TRIMMED WITH ORANGE RICK-RACK AND A BOW. “I AM 5” WAS EMBROIDERED SO ALL WOULD KNOW SHE WAS THE BIRTHDAY GIRL! SHE LOVED IT! WE ALSO ASKED OUR DEAR FRIEND, REGINA, TO MAKE A HER CAKE TO MATCH. SHE TOLD ME AFTER HER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION THAT “HER BIRTHDAY WAS AMAZING AND SHE HAD A FANTASTIC DAY, THANK YOU MOMMY, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH”. MEMORIES I HOPE SHE’LL ALWAYS HAVE IN HER HEART. HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY ANNA LAURA! I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER!

PEACE, LOVE AND CHRISTMAS….

I love this time of year-Christmas!  It seems as though the year has passed so very quickly.  We have decorated some with the tree and wreaths up.  The bottom half of my tree had all the ornaments on it as Kolby and Anna Laura decorated at their level.  I did finally get to put some up top, as they allowed me to help.  Now, little Chance will not keep taking the ornaments off, glad all the “breakaful” ones are put up high.  Don’t you love the phrase “breakaful”, that is what my little ones have said for years!

I have sewn a few Christmas shirts this week.  I’ve made Kolby and Chance matching shirts with gift boxes and their monogram inside.  Kirby picked this design out.  It sewed out really cute and you can easily change the fabric to match a desired pattern.  I’ve also made for a friend “peace, love and gifts”.  It was a simple design, but really cute.

I am hoping that as you read this, you celebrate the real reason of Christmas—Jesus Christ.  It is not about Santa, reindeer, and presents under the tree that sometimes makes us lose focus!  The real gift was a perfect, sinless baby being born of a virgin in Bethlehem so many nights ago.  I pray that as you celebrate this Christmas, you would know for sure that you have the greatest gift available to all mankind-Salvation through Jesus Christ.  After all,  HE is the reason for the season!!

Birds of a feather….

Do they really flock together?  This is a camouflage  appliquéd turkey that was designed for a little boy named Sam.  Per request, his body was made in orange and his feathers were made using different camouflage fabric.  He is just sew cute, don’t you think.  This is great not only for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, but also hunting season.  It really is just “all boy”.  My son advised me that I had to make him one so he could wear it hunting.

Speaking of camouflage, let’s hope your spiritual walk is not.  “ You are the light of the world-like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see.  Don’t hide your light under a basket!  Instead, put it on a stand and let it shine for all.  In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”  Matthew 5:14-16

Who Dat?

I know this slogan is just for the New Orleans Saints, however I thought it would fit for my cute owl.  She is an appliquéd owl made with hot pink and lime green material.  This shirt was a request for a little girl who loves owls.  The mom was very specific on colors and ask for the “h” to be put on her.

I have been very busy the last two weeks.  I have sewn four shirts, embroidered two heavy jackets with names and have worked on some canvas bags for the dance studio.  I have been please so far with the exception of one shirt.  I guess I’m not perfect. LOL!  I do make mistakes!

I am glad to see “Halloween” go!  I have really come to understand this is not a very pleasant “holiday”.  I think we will start celebrating “Reformation Day on October 31” from now on.  Martin Luther posted his bold protest that launched the Reformation on “All Hallows’ Eve, October 31, 1517.  Protestant Christians have since  remembered October 31 as a major turning point in the history of the Christian Church.  A time when the Gospel of Jesus Christ once again began to shine forth in all its splendor.  Our hearts need revival now.  This world is so full of hate, violence and evil already-why celebrate a day to honor it.  Makes no sense to me personally!

Revive me O Lord, that others may see in me you!  Help me to be a vessel that is willing to be molded into more of you and less of me!  Then people will really say “WHO DAT”!
